چکیده
Calciphylaxis is a rare thrombotic vasculopathy characterized by high mortality with worse outcomes in nephrogenic(NC) compared to non-nephrogenic(NNC) calciphylaxis. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy(HBOT) may be used the treatment of calciphylaxis, however, studies analyzing effectiveness HBOT for calciphylaxis are lacking. This study involved retrospective medical record review 185 adult patients diagnosed between 1/1/2006-12/31/21. For each patient, main lesion, defined as largest or most documented was longitudinally scored based on dermatologist assessment from chart and photographs. All-cause analyzed traditional survival analyses Cox proportional hazard models. Longitudinal wound were mixed effects modeling. 145(78.4%) received standard care 40(21.6%) HBOT, which 14(35.0%) Full HBOT(at least 25 sessions) 26(65.0%) Partial HBOT(less than sessions). associated significantly longer time other treatments(Hazard Ratio 0.221,p=0.0111). 21% 59% care(p=0.0208). Both demonstrated significant improvement healing over time(p=0.001), doing better after end HBOT(p=0.0063). These findings suggest role benefits both healing.

AIMS Calcific uraemic arteriolopathy (CUA) or calciphylaxis is most commonly seen in end-stage renal disease and is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. The aim of this study was to determine whether hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is effective in healing calciphylaxis lesions and to determine if there are any patient factors that can predict wound healing and patient survival....
متن کاملHyperbaric oxygen therapy and mandibular osteoradionecrosis: a retrospective study and analysis of treatment outcomes.
BACKGROUND Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy is recognized as an adjunctive treatment for osteoradionecrosis (ORN). It may also be used prophylactically in patients who require dental extractions and are at high risk for developing ORN. This article reviews the treatment outcomes of patients treated with HBO therapy at the Toronto General Hospital from 1985 to 1997. MATERIALS AND METHODS A tota...
